• I converted all my movies with anyvideoconverter to include subtitles in the movies and it shows up for me.

  Oh there was a Cinema update? I just got the new apps, did any videos you loaded yourself if you did look better?
• I'm in the same boat as saiyolang, I watch subtitled shows almost exclusively so I have very little to watch in the cinema.
  I'm not holding my breath since I'm sure it's non-trivial to add support (do any android apps support subtitles well?), but it's a really important feature to have eventually.
• There is a simple solution, atleast that is what i heard, but couldn't test it yet.
  Apparently the VR Gallery does support .srt files, so in case you have a video with subtitles watch that in VR gallery and without subtitles in the Oculus Cinema.
• Just want to confirm that you can get subtitles by placing a .srt in the same directory and use VR Gallery to watch the video

• Only external srt. You have to use something like Aegisub to export them out as an srt.
• I am very happy. Now subtitles are working. What you need to do is just keep the srt name same as movie name without any edit and it works for eg : movie name : mad.max.fury.road.2015.1080p.3d.HSBC.BluRay.x264.YIFY
  Then srt should be same but at end you have to mention srt for eg : mad.max.fury.road.2015.1080p.3d.HSBC.BluRay.x264.YIFY.srt
  Some times in srt file you do not have to write srt due to it is already prenamed but you have to check by opening ocolus- file, my movies, 3D and check in the folder. If srt is written twice.
  For eg : mad.max.fury.road.2015.1080p.3d.HSBC.BluRay.x264.YIFY.srt.srt.
  If it is twice mention then srt will not show.
• Is there a way to add subtitles to a 3d movie? would it be the same process? I had to convert 2d subtitles to 3d, but that changed the file to to .ass instead of .sr, which prevented it to work. Please help
• It's the same process.
  Filename should be:
  [movie-filename].[language].srt
  FUY There is still a bug: You can change position of subtitles by zooming video, turning subtitles off and on again, and zooming out to previous size. I'm hope devs will fix that finally and allow us to manually place subtitles in proper position.
• Hi guys, I tried to use subtitles using Video VR but It doesn't work. I put the same exactly name of the mkv file. When I watch the video on the phone, without the VR, the subtitles are there. But they don't work using Gear VR. What could it be?

• Hi guys. I'm new to the vr.. its a very impressive thing and im very excited about this!
  I have a movie and a Greek subtitle file together. If i run the video with MILK VR app, i see the subtitles correctly on the screen. If i try to watch it with oculus video i see subtitles like this : ******** ****** *****.
  Any ideas about that problem???

  chinese subtitles are not suported either. seems only eng subtitles are supported at present.
  VR gallery is the same.

• Turkish subtitles are not suported either. 'ş, t, ı, ö, ğ..' characters are shown '?'. We'll be pleased if you add an encoding option for subtitles.

  I watched your video, very interesting but I think in the 2017 version of oculus video the option doesn't exist. When I launch a video the only option I have is to change the theatre.
  I bought a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge with the Gear VR 1 month ago so I guess I have the latest version of the apk. Does anyone can help e with that?

  First, delete the current version and disable automatic updates in the Oculus settings.
