I've seen this problem before. You are using aWT's sliders, correct? I actually have given up on that. But from all the solutions I've come acrossed so far, there are a couple that I know.
The only mods that can increase CAS sliders are cmar's XCAS, MasterController, and Awesome. These are core mods and would most likely need to be update per patch. That means you have to reinstall the newest/correct version according to the patch version. If you are using MasterController, try tweaking the settings first in game by clicking on a sim in live mode (NRAAS MasterController -> Settings -> CAS)
cmar's however has seperate mod files that you can install along with the core mod (the slider multiplier and number of sliders you can install)
Now for the Iris/Pupil sliders. You're going to have to replace the mesh provided by the creator with Buhudain's. Can't link it because the website is not age appropriate lol. But google 'buhudain awt'. The first one usually is the right one which is about their 'cross-eye issue' fix. Download it and read the notepad file for instructions.
Or you can use OneEuroMutt's Eyeball size slider here: http://oneeuromutt.tumblr.com/post/74642563895/i-give-to-you-my-facial-sliders-pack-sliders-are

  • I'll try that, I'm using the Buckleys awt sliders, but maybe that's the issue? I'll try Buhudains. I hope it fixes it. I can't stand it. All the NRAA's should be up to date, I reinstalled them all with the most current (even though I was using the most current ones). The ONLY one that I have an issue with is Integration, the newest version will crash my game even with 1.63, and now with 1.67, but if I use an older version everything is fine..
They all worked previously, it was only after installing ITF that they seem to have stopped working (in digging through my screenshots). Also, all the sliders are present and working in CAS..?? Before I increased the slider amount I did see that certain ones wouldn't work at all. So I'm familiar with that..
I'll try the other eyeball mesh. But I'm mad about the nose slider not working now..

Slight correction if I may. Of the three mentioned, MasterController is not a Core Mod.
I use MasterController and CMar's XCAS full version at the same time without trouble, but do find that the XCAS settings tend to trump MasterController's. Which means I had to use and edit her tuning file in S3PE to expand the number of allowable sliders to the higher value I wanted in order to get them to work in all instances of MasterController Integration's CAS (Stylist, Change Appearance, etc.)
And now that I look at that last paragraph, I realize it almost doesn't even qualify as English. Should I try to clarify or is this at least somewhat understandable as is?
If MasterController is the only one of those you have in play though, the latest version does have a setting that allows you to set the maximum number of sliders to some number higher than the default of 100.
Edit: If the latest version of MasterController is crashing your game, consider running the 1.67 SuperPatch. MC is very sensitive to incomplete patch jobs that might otherwise go undetected by the Launcher.

  • Oh well since you said you installed the right version of nraas' you probably do need to retweak the settings. Because from what I remember, the default is usually at slider multiplier 1x. I always put mine on 3x
That is really odd. Buckley said it was actually similar or an updated version of Buhudain's
Also check if you have multiple copies of those mods or something. They are probably conflicting each other. Only one has to be in your folder.

  • @igazor that was the one I did to patch up to 1.67
@CandyCadet I checked and I did have the buhudains eye.. I'm going to have a stroke pretty soon. LOL
So From my mods folder I have the following NRAAS-
    D-
    Master controller
    Master Controller cheats
Master Controller Integration (this is the one I've had to use the older version..)
    Overwatch
    Relativity
    SP
    SP population
    Traveller
    W-
I replaced them all with the newest versions. I'm going to jump back in and see if my sliders were reset. Would they still show up in CAS and not in game though? When I didn't have it working correctly they didn't show up in CAS either..

Post new screenshots if you got it solved tho. I'm still debating whether I should bother with it again because I hate when the sims lose the shine/glint on their eyes in game looking like how they already look in CAS
Also I notice that the quality of your game suddenly got bad after patching? Try setting it back up to VeryHigh lol
It happened once when I had it on just 'High' setting. The size went back to its original large size and not small like in CAS.
If you could, you probably need to reinstall fresh copies of your sliders. I have all of mine archived a few days ago because this might happen in my game.

  • What I was getting was all my sliders showed up and looked fine in CAS, but the changes I kept making weren't sticking at all and in fact were undoing changes already saved on other sliders for the same sims previously. Check NRaas > MC > Settings > CAS > Max Sliders (or something like that) > set to a higher number than 100. But you do have to have v132 of both MC Base and MC Integration for this to work.
Maybe you are experiencing something different. The crashing with both pieces of MC at v132 shouldn't be happening.

Yeah I set it back down to 'HIGH' because I have issues with lag when its on Very high for gameplay. BUT with that said, even before it wasn't quite THAT bad YK? I'm fooling around more to see what's going on. I noticed too that one of my sim girls bodies went way out of whack.
@igazor Yeah I'm a bit perplexed by it. Before I got ITF everything was working AOK. This is what I get for messing around with my perfectly functioning game. LOL Also, I'm not finding the 'Max Sliders' in the CAS menu..

You mean those screenshots you took before patching has the setting on just 'High' that's too good to be true wow. Were you able to move the sliders and notice changes tho? Some sliders aren't applicable to all ages. Buckley's version of aWT's eye sliders does however.
Also what @igazor and I were talking about are the 'Max Sliders in CAS' and 'Slider Multiple' from the CAS menu. Try getting numbers higher than what you have like going from 1 to 4 and 100 to 300.
the 1.63 patch is very interesting. I should remember this

  • @candycadet No no! Sorry that first picture is on Very High, but my 'High' before used to look, pretty good. Not as bad as those other in-game pictures. I never had the Slider Multiple any higher previously, and the show numeric value is always on 'true'. I DO seem to remember vaguely about increasing the slider amount, but.. I don't remember what I did before anymore.
I'm going to try installing Integration V132 again.. and see what happens. Its been crashing during game load up. It gets to the menu, but then doesn't go any further, crashing down to desktop. I went down to V124 and the game worked again. I'll see.

There is a CAS setting called 'Override Custom Core Sliders' I'm not sure what this is but it sounds hopeful. Mind shedding some light in this one @igazor ?
Also do note that the going to CAS from the tutorial mode, new game, and Edit Town mode are a bit different. I remember my sliders and MC mod not working after coming from the tutorial mode so I advice disabling that.
It also says on the 'Integration' add-on that you should install it along with MC mod to enable it in 'Edit Town' CAS mode.
If it keeps crashing. You probably do need to reinstall your game and use a SuperPatch. Keep the game's document folder tho so you won't lose any. Though if you do have an HD mod (I remember you talking about it), you would need to redownload that and go over all of those processes again.

  • The Override Custom Core option is supposed to allow MC to take priority over Core Mods that also affect CAS. In my experience it works against Awesome but not XCAS. If you have no such Core Mods in play, the setting shouln't do anything.

It also seems to only be specific sliders, the nose bridge bump, the fun bag sliders, and the iris sliders. (So far) I don't use a ton of sliders.
The Cmar height one is not affected... grumble. I'm going to lose it. I don't think I can play with HQ on all the time. It gets a bit slow when they are changing clothes.. laggy.

I hope someone with a 1.63 game sees this so I can ask them what their GraphicsRules.sgr looks like.

Eh, I think HQ is only important when taking close up pictures of your sims. Otherwise, like you sort of said, it isn't worth playing in normal game play. I think that creators of HQ even usually say that somewhere. Since I got my new laptop, I haven't installed an HQ mod, and the only times I miss it are when I'm taking close ups of sims to upload. I suppose I could just put it in when I know I want to only take pictures. Maybe it's also fine when building.
The 1.69.43 (the second patch of patch 1.69 released around 1/12/16) Basics and Full versions are now available.
The 1.38 version of the skintone panel mod is compatible with 1.38 to 1.69.43 and does not need to be updated.
A 1.67 Steam-compatible version is added. (This is the latest version on Steam.)

The first and second 1.69 and all other previous versions, now including Steam versions 1.50 - 1.66, are still available from the XCAS obsolete versions site: https://sites.google.com/site/cmarxcas/ - Please note the new address!
Have you thought that the game tattoo locations are a bit.. limited? Do you have custom sliders or want to increase slider range? Would you like some of your sims to wear a ring or earring when naked? Or do you have custom accessories that you'd like your sim to wear in the shower without having to give them the 'Never Naked' trait? XCAS can do that, plus a few more things.
** This is a CORE mod. It is not compatible with AwesomeMod or any other CORE mod except (probably) Consort's Weight and Fitness Integration. It IS compatible with the NRaas mods. **
Core vs non-core versions:
Twallan liked this idea so much that he's made it into an extension of NRaas Master Controller, a VERY useful non-core mod that adds new menus and functions for sims and objects in the game. This extension adds the new tattoo locations to the MasterController Basic/Tattoo function. This means those who prefer to use AwesomeMod or Extended Game Core as a core mod can do so and have the added tattoo locations too!
Here's the link for MasterController and the tattoo extension addon: http://nraas.wikispaces.com/MasterController
So a huge thanks goes to Twallan for doing this - not to mention taking the pressure off me to try making this non-core!
And before you ask, cmar_XCAS_corefullxx.package and the Master Controller tattoo extension are NOT compatible. Use only one. XCAS and Master Controller without the tattoo extension ARE compatible.
Now back to our regularly scheduled mod description:
What it is:
XCAS is a CORE mod designed to be limited to CAS functions. While it does less than more extensive core mods, it's also less likely to have side effects. It is not compatible with any other core mod that replaces UI.dll, like AwesomeMod or Extended Game Core. However, there are some packages included that can be used without the core mod component.
What it does:
Core mod packages-- download and use only ONE of these, cmar_XCASfull1.xx.zip OR cmar_XCASbasics1.xx.zip.
XCAS basics:
-- Increases the number of facial sliders the game can use from 20 to 75
-- Optionally, increases the facial slider range by 2 times, 3 times, or 4 times
-- Enables the facial hair/beard panel for females (New with patch version 1.39)
-- Enables the body hair panel for females and teens
-- Enables the tattoo panel for teens
-- Optionally, you can edit the naked outfit in the dresser 'Plan Outfit' game function and in CAS* (See the Known Issues section)
XCAS full version:
-- All of the above plus:
-- Adds many more tattoo locations
'Extras' packages that can be used with or without the core mod--
-- Optionally, expands the skin tone picker panel
-- Optionally, increases the body slider range by 2 times. (Fat/thin, fit, and breast size)
-- A package that enables a few base game accessories for the naked outfit
-- A package that lets you tattoo naked (With the sim naked, not you. :D) ** This package will also make sims naked in the body hair panel.
Added tattoo locations:
  • Full body
  • Full face
  • Forehead
  • Cheek
  • Throat
  • Upper breast
  • Ribs/side of chest
  • Hip
  • Lower belly
  • Back of hand
  • Palm
  • Back of shoulder
  • Lower low back (tramp stamp)
  • Butt cheek
  • Thigh - front
  • Thigh - back
  • Calf - front
  • Calf - back
  • Outer ankle
  • Foot
  • Pubic (1.22 version and up, optional)
  • Nipple (1.22 version and up, optional)

Installation:
This mod now comes in two flavors: the original, full version and Basic. I realize there are many people who want the slider hacks and the ability to edit the naked outfit but aren't very interested in more tattoo locations, and XCAS Basics is for them. The Full version still has all the extra tattoos.
Please read the Readme files included in each zip file - they will tell you which packages to install to tailor the mod to your taste. Don't just throw every package in the zip into your game - some of them are different versions of the same feature, giving you choices about how you want the mod to work. Note that you can use the 'Extras' packages without the core mod.
Otherwise, install like any other packages. The core package either has to go in the Documents mods location or you need to have d3dx9_31.dll properly installed.
You MUST use a version of the core package that's made for the patch version of your base game. If you don't know the patch version of your game, start the Sims 3 Game Launcher and hover your mouse over the little icons at the bottom left of the Launcher screen. Your base game version is the first three digits of the number you see when hovering over the first icon in the row - for example 1.33. When a new patch comes out, please be patient and I will update the mod.
Delete your cache packages from 'Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3' when installing.
Removal:
Remove the XCAS packages and/or the extras. If you remove the core component and leave the locations package, the sims should keep their non-game located tattoos until you edit them.
Again, delete cache files after uninstalling.
Known Issues and Compatibility:
The core component is not compatible with any other core mod, like AwesomeMod, Extended Game Core, or aWT's slider mods. It does appear to be compatible with Consort's Weight and Fitness Integration mod.
With Supernatural there seems to be a glitch in which ALL male body hair gets set to werewolf hair if you have cmar_XCAS_BodyHairforTeens_basegame.package installed. I have no clue why this should happen since those are simple default replacements, but I recommend using this teen body hair mod instead which does not cause this: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=486582 As of 1.39 patch version I've withdrawn my EA teen body hair package since it seems to have some kind of glitch.
When you edit the Naked outfit in CAS, please be aware that leaving the Clothing section while in the naked outfit and then returning can cause other changes (skin, hair, face, etc.) to be lost as soon as you change clothing categories. Note that as of 1.42 the trick of going into tattoos or body hair before returning to clothing no longer works.
The package that expands the skin tone picker and the range of the body sliders is not compatible with any other mod that affects the CAS basics screen - the screen defining the age, gender, skin tone, and fat/thin/fit/breast sliders.
Troubleshooting:
If your game crashes on startup, most likely you have your mods/packages folder in the old Program Files location. I strongly encourage you to look up the help on this site for package installation and switch to the new Documents location. It'll make everything easier.
If you get an error message on startup saying 'It looks like you have installed an unofficial game modification that does not match your current version of the sims 3', you may have the wrong version of XCAS for your game patch version. Or you may have another mod that doesn't match your game patch version.
If the mod is installed correctly but doesn't work or has strange effects, you may have another core mod installed and there's a conflict, or you're running it with the wrong patch version. Also make sure you don't have both XCASfull and XCASbasics installed - they will conflict with each other.
To check for conflicts, I highly recommend Delphy's Dashboard: http://www.modthesims.info/d/387006
** If you need to report a problem - please, please, PLEASE tell me more than 'It doesn't work'. Post exactly what's happening, what functions are working and not working, any error messages, where and how you have your custom content set up, and what other game mods you have - not clothes or hair or sliders or decorations, but what mods you have that change the way the game plays. It may also be helpful if you post your operating system and what expansion/stuff packs you have and whether you've checked for conflicts with Delphy's Dashboard. **
How long will it take to update for a patch????
Well, that depends. Ideally a new version will be out the next day, but if EA has added significant new features or changes to CAS tattoo or clothing and/or the Plan Outfit and Stylist options it will take longer as I have to update and test my code. Also I'm not always aware that a new patch has come out (despite doing a lot of modding, I don't play the game every day) so it's not a bad idea to post in the thread to tell me. However, if there are five posts above yours telling me, it's really not necessary to add another one.

  • XCAS full version has all the features described above. XCASbasics has everything except the added tattoo locations. Use only one!
  • If you already have a recent version (1.22 or later), all you need to replace is the core package (either Basics or Full) for the core mod.
  • Don't forget to remove the old version of the core when updating.
  • The 1.38 skintone panel packages do NOT need to be updated for 1.69. (SkinTonePanel expands the skintone pick panel only. SkinTonePanel_BodySliders also expands the range of the fat/thin, muscle, and breast size sliders.)
  • Clear caches when installing or uninstalling!
  • Be aware that leaving the Clothing section while in the naked outfit and then returning can cause other changes (skin, hair, face, etc.) to be lost. You can use naked clothing if you need to adjust sliders with the sim nude. Snaitf's True Nudists or my Nouveau Nudists, both available on SexySims2.com, are a good choice.
  • In the Stylist screen the Outerwear button falls too low and partially on the Naked outfit button. Both are still usable. I haven't yet found a cause or solution for this.

Changes with 1.69:
  • None.

Changes with 1.69.42:
  • None.

Changes with 1.69.43:
  • None.

Please note that I only updated the versioning for 1.69, 1.69.42, and 1.69.43 since there are (supposedly) no changes to the game code. If users report problems I'll go through the process of a complete new version.

** 11/17/2015 : cmar_XCASbasics1.69.zip and cmar_XCASfull1.69.zip - compatible with patch 1.69 which came out November 2015 **
